CONTENTS OF THE VET BOX

This is just a guide, I’m sure everyone has their own personal “must haves” but you can start with these basics and build on that.

Scissors

Cotton Wool

Salt, to make a simple saline solution (1 teaspoon to half a litre of boiled and cooled water). This is for bathing eyes and small wounds. Do not use this on a wound that may need stitching as it dries up the edges of the wound, so will hinder the edges
knitting back together.

2 Clean containers

wound powder

wound cream

Antiseptic spray

8

A poultice for example animalintex

nine

Gamgee

A  clean bandage

11

Vet wrap

12

Duct tape

13

Surgical gloves

14

Thermometer

Final Thoughts

Remember it is better to have everything that you may need in an emergency, ready in a clean, sealed box rather than having to waste time looking for essential items when time may be critical.
