This is just a guide, I’m sure everyone has their own personal “must haves” but you can start with these basics and build on that.
Scissors
Cotton Wool
Salt, to make a simple saline solution (1 teaspoon to half a litre of boiled and cooled water). This is for bathing eyes and small wounds. Do not use this on a wound that may need stitching as it dries up the edges of the wound, so will hinder the edges knitting back together.
2 Clean containers
wound powder
wound cream
Antiseptic spray
A poultice for example animalintex
Gamgee
A clean bandage
Vet wrap
Duct tape
Surgical gloves
Thermometer
Final Thoughts
Remember it is better to have everything that you may need in an emergency, ready in a clean, sealed box rather than having to waste time looking for essential items when time may be critical.
